Professor Pawel Spiewak, prominent writer and public intellectual, winner of the 2013 Josef Tischner Prize

The Australian Institute of Polish Affairs (AIPA) together with Monash University’s Australian Centre for Jewish Civilisation and Australian Society of Polish Jews and Their Descendants invite you to Public Lectures by Professor Pawel Spiewak, prominent Polish Writer and Public intellectual, winner of the 2013 Josef Tischner Prize.

Professor Pawel Spiewak will give two public lectures (followed by discussions): Sunday 2nd June, 6-8 pm,Caulfield Campus, H116, Monash UniversityBuilding H116, 900 Dandenong Rd – Melbourne  “WARSAW GHETTO. 1940-43”  and Monday 3 June, 6-8 pm,Armagh, 226 Kooyong Rd, Toorak “THE POLISH CATHOLIC CHURCH AND THE JEWS”.  (The relations between the Catholic Church and the Jewish population in Poland evolved together with the major historical events. The lecture focuses on the most recent developments, marking a new stage in the Christian-Jewish dialogue, in the context of post-WWII history.)

Cost: $20 per person.  Refreshments will be served
